Derna ”moderate” Islamists guarantee security to foreign companies

The Derna Mujahideen Shura Council (DMSC), considered as the more relatively more ”moderate” Islamists currently in control of the . . .[restrict]city, have called upon foreign companies to return to the city to help develop it – guaranteeing them their security.

The call came in a statement released yesterday headed ‘’A call for the development of the city’’ in which the DMSC called on Korean company ‘’Wyn’’ and Turkish company ‘’Ozalteen’’ to resume their housing and infrastructure projects that were halted after the Libyan 2011 revolution.

The DMSC undertook to ”provide the highest level of security and personal safety and for equipment and services used ”.

It will be recalled that the DMSC, the more moderate local Islamist militias, were the forces that helped expel IS from the city in rejection of the more extremist traits of IS in June this year.

Life has since started returning to some sort of normality as the city seeks to rebuild itself and move forward. [/restrict]
