Cairo, 30 May:

According to Egyptian officials today, Wednesday, they have been assured by their Libyan counterparts that Egyptian workers would now . . .[restrict]be permitted to enter the country on group visas.

They reported that 164 Egyptians had flown from Cairo today and were permitted to enter the country on a group visa following negotiations between both sides and a Libyan promise that they would be allowed in. A Libyan delegation had been in Cairo to discuss the issue.

Last week, several hundred Egyptian workers travelling to Libya on group visas were denied entry after Libyan immigration officials were told to no longer accept such documentation.

Egyptian workers are not the only nationality affected.  Bangladeshis travelling to Libya on group visas in the past few days have also been refused entry.
