By Libya Herald staff.

Tripoli, 23 July 2014:

Pumping from Sirte Oil Compay’s Zelten and Marada fields has restarted following a deal between . . .[restrict]the National Oil Corporation (NOC) and local Petroleum Facilities Guards to end the blockade at Marsa El-Brega which began a fortnight ago. Operations restarted with 21,000 barrels being pumped to the terminal’s tanks.

The deal, brokered by local activists, is said to address the 600 guards’ demands for pay dating back to 2013 and for a Petroleum Institute to be based in the area.

Another of their demands, that former PFG commander Idris Bukhamada be reinstated, appears to have been dropped.
