A five year-old boy, Mohammed Ismail Hussein Awaj, was snatched from his own father’s . . .[restrict]car in Zahra, west of Tripoli, yesterday just after afternoon prayers.
The father and son were returning from the mosque when the car they were riding in was ambushed by armed men in a red Opel.
The men shot at the car’s tires and then snatched the boy from the car as the father screamed.
The father was shot during the struggle and suffered minor injuries.
It is believed that the abductors are demanding a ransom for the release of the boy but this has not yet been confirmed. [/restrict]
