Chinese mobile phone manufacturer Huawei Company for Technologies will open its first showroom in the Gergarish . . .[restrict]district of Tripoli next month.
The company will also launch the Huawei Ascend P6 smart phone as well as another four to five types of smart phones and a number of Huwaei Tablets and accessories.
The two-floor 450 square metres Huawei showroom took about three months to complete and 95 per cent of the building has been finished, Huawei Libya General Manager Omar Tan told the Libya Herald.
Tan added that the Huawei’s Gergarish showroom will be the first after the revolution but that the company is planning to open more showrooms in Benghazi and Sebha.
“In general we have three offices in Libya in Tripoli, Benghazi, and Sebha, and we have 150 employees, 65 per cent of whom are Libyan” Tan said.
Tan further added that the company will launch the slimmest smart phone in the world, the Huawei Ascend P6, which is has a 4.70 inch, 720×1280 display powered by a 1.6GHz processor, alongside 2GB RAM and 8-megapixel rear camera.
However, its price is not been decided yet, Tan explained, but he was confident that it will be attractive and available for everyone.
On a broader business level with regards to Huawei’s involvement in other ITC sectors Tan said that “Libya is a huge market for Huawei and our company produces the latest technology cooperating with its Libyan partners like Libyana, Al-Madar, LTT and Hatif Libya to build the new Libya”, Tan emphasized.
He pointed out that Huawei is still able to operate in Libya despite the security sitaution, stressing that Huawei stays with its customers whatever happened and that is why the company has been able to achieve success in Libya over the last ten years.
It will be recalled that Samsung launched its Galaxy S5 at a launch event in Tripoli earlier this month.
