Tripoli, 22 November 2013:

Five people were  injured during a protest today by hundreds outside the the Supreme Security . . .[restrict]Committee (SSC) base in Abu Sleem after which furious demonstrators returned with a bulldozer and smashed down part of the compound wall.

Troops from the National Army Brigade 101 arrived to separate the two sides. A Ministry of Health spokesman told the Libya Herald that claims that two people had died were wrong. However, he confirmed that two of the five wounded, were in a serious condition. It has been claimed that the injuries were caused by spent rounds after SSC troops fired in the air.

At some point in the Abu Selim confrontation, an explosive device went off, reportedly near the house of the Abu Selim SSC commander, Abdul Ghani Kikli, without causing any injury.
