The head of the General Information Authority (GIA) Abdelbaset Al-Baour revealed last Monday (13 April) that, in line with the implementation of the National Communications and Information Technology Strategy 2023-2027, the General Authority for Communications and Information Technology has adopted the regulatory framework for the use of in-flight internet services within Libyan airspace (Mobile Communications on board Aircraft – MCA).
This framework enables airlines to provide high-quality internet services using advanced technologies, such as Ku-band satellite connectivity and in-flight Wi-Fi, within precise technical controls that ensure no interference with terrestrial networks or navigation systems.
It also provides high-speed internet services to passengers, enhancing the travel experience and supporting the transition to integrated digital services in the aviation sector, thus improving service quality and meeting the expectations of travellers in the age of constant connectivity.
Libya is moving forward with confidence and is capable of keeping pace with the world and making its presence felt within it, he concluded.
