The Prime Minister met this afternoon with the UK’s national Security Adviser Kim Darroch, currently in Tripoli, to . . .[restrict]discuss training and rehabilitation of young Libyans in the defence and security sectors.
The meeting comes in the wake of international concern about security in Libya following last Tuesday’s bomb explosion at the French embassy. However, Darroch said his visit was a follow-up to that by UK Prime Minister David Cameron at the beginning of the year.
In a flying visit at the end of January, Cameron pledged to provide extra help to Libya to improve security.
Today’s visit, Darroch said, was aimed at supporting the reconstruction process and help improve capacity and rehabilitation, especially in the fields of defense and security.
This is Darroch’s third visit to Tripoli this year.
