Tripoli, 10 February 2013:

Justice Minister Salah Bashir Margani today said he hoped that all the 2,000-plus detainees held in prisons in . . .[restrict]Misrata would be transferred to the new Al-Roame prison when it is completed.

Speaking alongside Ali Zeidan at the prime minister’s press conference, Margani said that the new jail, near Misrata’s  Al-Jawia airforce college, would hold more than 2,000 prisoners and would be run by the Supreme Security Committee and the Justice Ministry police. He also said that 24 prosecutors had been selected by his ministry. They would begin work as soon as accommodation had been found for them. [/restrict]
