The Thirteenth Criminal Circuit of the Tripoli Court of Appeal issued its verdict today in criminal case number (630 / 2014) concerning figures of the Qaddafi regime. Case No. 630 is related to the suppression of protesters during the February 2011 revolution that overthrew the 42-year Qaddafi regime.
The court acquitted 21 defendants in absentia of the charges against them, including Abdalla al-Senussi, Baghdadi al-Mahmoudi, Mansour Daw, and Muhammad Abu al-Qasim al-Zawi.
Al-Senussi faced approximately 26 charges in Case No. 630 related to the suppression of protesters. The Abu Salim prison case is still ongoing and pending before the court.
The court also acquitted 10 other defendants in absentia of the charges against them, including Milad Daman, Ali al-Maqtouf al-Zawi, Jamal al-Shahed, Muhammad al-Waer, and Abu Ajila Muhammad Masoud.
The Criminal Circuit ruled that the charges against Saif al-Islam Qaddafi, Abu Zaid Dorda, Abdul Hafiz al-Zalitni, Bashir Hamidan, Abdul Ati Ibrahim Hamed, Nouri al-Jatlawi, and Ammar al-Mabrouk al-Naydh were dismissed due to their deaths.
