Benghazi Chamber of Commerce received last Monday (20 April) a high-level Japanese delegation, headed by Ambassador Shimura Izuru, to discuss ways to enhance economic cooperation and expand partnership prospects between the two sides, as well as opportunities for Japanese companies to enter the Libyan market.
The delegation was received by Munim Naji Al-Saity, Acting Chairman of the Board and two directors of the Chamber.
During the meeting, the Chairman of the Chamber reviewed the Chamber’s role since its establishment in supporting the private sector and developing the business environment, in addition to the services it provides to institutions and companies, and the rapid urban and economic development that Benghazi is witnessing in various sectors.
He also emphasized the importance of advances in modern technology and the potential for its significant use in developing the economic and service sectors, praising the high level of confidence in Japanese industries and their global quality.
The Chairman also emphasized the importance of attracting Japanese companies operating abroad and strengthening communication channels with them to facilitate their entry into the Libyan market.
He affirmed that the Chamber of Commerce would support and facilitate all aspects of cooperation and investment should Japanese companies return to the Libyan market, working to establish direct communication channels between international companies and providing information on investment opportunities and promising sectors.
