The Libyan European Forum for Transport and Telecoms opened in Malta from 30-31 January

Libyan European Forum for Transport and Telecoms to be held in Malta from 30 to 31 January 2026

The 3rd annual Libyan European Forum for Transport and Telecoms (30 to 31 January) opened in Malta yesterday.

The event opened with the participation of and Mohamed Al-Raied, Chairman of the Union of Libyan Chambers of Commerce, he Chairman of the Libyan French Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of the General Authority for Transport, and Mohamed Al-Hangari, head of the Libyan Export Development Authority (LEDA).

The forum was sponsored by the Tripoli based Ministry of Transport and the Libyan Telecoms Holding Company and overseen by the Union of Libyan Chambers of Commerce, the French Business (MEDEF), and the Union of European Transport Companies.

Several Libyan and French companies and national institutions specializing in transport, communications, and information technology were also in attendance.

The third annual forum will discuss several projects, investment opportunities, and technical presentations aimed at developing and implementing strategies for the transport, communications, and information technology sectors in Libya.

It also aims to overcome obstacles to the development of these sectors in Libya, in cooperation with the European Union. The forum’s themes include improving transport infrastructure, utilizing modern communications and information technologies in land, air, and sea transport, the aviation industry, and developing infrastructure, airports, and seaports.

The forum will also feature face-to-face meetings to discuss investment opportunities and strengthen economic relations between Libya and Europe.

In his speech during the opening of the forum, the head of the Libyan Export Development Authority (LEDA) stressed the importance of Libya in terms of location and resources, as it is a link and a corridor for trade exchange between the European and African continents.
