The Chairman of the Libyan Export Development Authority (LEDA), Mohamed Al-Hangari, along with department directors, held a meeting yesterday with Mehdi Jaraya, representative of the Ideal Aquaculture Company, and Fathi Al-Lazaz, representative of the Tunisian Southern Fish Farming Company.
The meeting, held at LEDA’s Tripoli headquarters, explored avenues for cooperation between LEDA and the two Tunisian companies in establishing fish farms in Libya. Participants discussed the technical aspects of the project and its economic feasibility.
Preliminary study to be prepared for next meeting
It was agreed that a preliminary study outlining the project’s requirements and the necessary resources for its implementation would be prepared and presented at a subsequent meeting.
As part of the wider strategy to support exports
As part of its strategy to support exports across all Libyan sectors, LEDA said it places great importance on marine resources, aiming to develop the sector and equip it with the latest technologies and equipment that will contribute to its advancement.
