Libya’s Arabian Gulf Oil Company (AGOCO) announced yesterday that the technical affairs team at the Messla Field, under the supervision of the Technical Inspection and Corrosion Protection Department and with support from the Benghazi Chemical Treatment Department, successfully completed the cleaning and treatment of the flow line of well HH-89 in the Messla.
This enabled the well to return to production after a six-year shutdown, with a current output of 850 barrels per day.
Using Libyan cadres
The operation was carried out using an integrated chemical treatment program, which resulted in the removal of scale and blockages and the safe and efficient restoration of flow efficiency. This achievement reflects the ability of national personnel to address operational challenges with innovative methods.
Mohammed Bin Shatwan, Chairman of AGOCO’s Management Committee, pointed out that national cadres represent the basic pillar for the success of operations, stressing the Management Committee’s keenness to provide all technical support and the appropriate environment for users to implement innovative solutions that enhance national production and the sustainability of operational assets.
AGOCO said the success of well HH-89 confirms and reflects the ability of users to effectively face technical challenges.
