Minister of Industry meets the Committee for Localisation of Oil Materials and Equipment Industry

The Ministry of Industry and Minerals reported yesterday that during a meeting on the same day at the Ministry’s Misrata office, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Industry and Minerals, Mustafa Al-Samou, discussed a preliminary proposal submitted by the Hungarian company Rotary International Ltd to establish a cement factory in Libya.

The meeting reviewed the project concept and the preliminary proposal to establish a modern cement factory based on environmentally friendly industrial technologies. The Ministry said this will contribute to meeting local market needs, enhancing national production, and reducing imports.

During the meeting, views were exchanged on possible cooperation mechanisms and ways to develop industrial investments in the building materials sector, in line with the Ministry’s efforts to support local manufacturing and attract experienced foreign companies.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Undersecretary commended the Hungarian company Rotary’s interest in investing in Libya, stressing the Ministry of Industry and Minerals’ keenness to open channels of communication with companies wishing to contribute to the development of the national industrial sector.
