The Libya Development and Reconstruction Fund reported last Sunday (20 July) that its Director General, Belgassem Khalifa Hafter, signed what it called several strategic and important contracts with Turkish company Albavvaba Hizmetleri Ltd Sirketi.
The contracts are for the installation and development of air navigation and ground communication systems at seven eastern-controlled airports (Benghazi, Sabha, Sirte, Ubari, Al-Abraq, Martouba and Tobruk airports.
The Libya Development and Reconstruction Fund describes the move as a qualitative step towards modernising the infrastructure of the Libyan aviation sector.
It adds that it comes within the framework of its plans aimed at promoting the civil aviation sector and modernising the navigation communications system in several Libyan airports.
These contracts, it continued, come in the context of a comprehensive national vision led by the Fund to rehabilitate the country’s infrastructure, which contributes to enhancing stability and advancing development throughout the country.
