In a speech delivered during a workshop yesterday, the NOC reported that Chairman Farhat Bengdara referred to the vast oil resources that Libya abounds in, pointing out that 70 percent of its territory has not yet been explored.
This, he said, opens the door to great opportunities for growth in the future, stressing the commitment of the NOC to develop this potential in cooperation with international partners.
Bengdara was speaking at joint two-day workshops that started in Cairo yesterday organised by the NOC, in cooperation with the US Department of Commerce.
These events, the NOC reported, aim to strengthen partnership with international oil companies, learn about the latest technological developments in the field of oil production, as well as discuss investment opportunities in the oil and gas sector.
The NOC said representatives from major international oil and energy companies also attended, providing an opportunity to exchange ideas and insights on the most prominent challenges and opportunities in the sector.
The main themes of the workshops are based on presenting and discussing the strategy for developing the oil sector, enhancing production rates and achieving sustainable growth, and ways and mechanisms to ensure the protection of the digital infrastructure of the oil sector, enhance efficiency and achieve new discoveries.
The workshops will also showcase the “One Million Trees” project launched by the NOC to improve the environment and support sustainability in the areas surrounding oil operations.
