The Tripoli based Minister of Economy and Trade, Mohamed Al-Hwej, met last Wednesday at the Ministry’s Tripoli headquarters, the Ambassador of Ethiopia to Libya, Hassan Musa.

The two discussed aspects of cooperation in the fields of trade and investment, in the presence of the Minister’s advisor, Shather Al-Sayd, the Director of the Department of Foreign Trade and International Cooperation, Ezzedine Mosaddeq, Director of the Internal Trade Department, Mustafa Gadara, Head of the International Cooperation Department, Faraj Al-Bey, and the head of the cooperation file with Ethiopia, Abdullah Al-Jadi.

Emphasise African economic integration
Commenting exclusively to Libya Herald on the meeting and its results, the Spokesman for the Ministry of Economy and Trade, Fawzi Wadi, said that the meeting comes within a series of meetings held by the Minister of Economy with the ambassadors of African countries in Tripoli to emphasize economic integration between the countries of the continent and to emphasize Libya’s role in consolidating the principle of cooperation to advance economies with African Union countries.

Increase exports and investment
The meeting also aimed to inform African ambassadors about Libya’s economic capabilities and products that can be exported to their countries, to increase the volume of economic cooperation, and to create mutual investment opportunities.

Activating existing economic agreements: Double taxation, labour and investment

Activating the Joint Supreme Committee and making the necessary arrangements to hold a meeting at the level of the Prime Minister and working to develop ways of cooperation in all fields, were also discussed.
