A memorandum of understanding was signed in Tripoli last Wednesday between Libya and Bangladesh to facilitate employment procedures and enhance cooperation opportunities.

The MoU will enable Bangladeshi workers to be recruited through the procedures of the Wafed digital platform. The platform aims to ensure that workers are not exploited or exposed to fraud, in accordance with the legislation and laws in force in both countries.

The MoU was signed between Libya’s Tripoli based Minister of Labour and Rehabilitation, Ali Al-Abed Al-Rida, and the Bangladeshi Minister of Expatriates Welfare and Employment, Imran Ahmed.

The signing took place at the Ministry’s Tripoli office last Wednesday, in the presence of the Bangladeshi Ambassador to Libya, and officials from the ministries of the two countries, and in the presence of the Departments of International Cooperation and Laws and Treaties at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
