The first Libyan-French Forum for Oil, Gas and Energy was held in the French capital, Pari, (21-22 June), in the presence of the Libyan Ambassador to France, Khaled Gajiji, the French Ambassador to Libya, Mostafa Mihraje, the President of the Libyan General Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, Muhammad Al-Raied, two members of the Board of Directors of the National Oil Corporation, Hussein Saffar and Masoud Suleiman, members of the French-Libyan Joint Chamber of Commerce, several companies affiliated with the National Oil Corporation, and several Libyan businessmen, with the participation of more than 40 Libyan companies and 45 French companies in the field of energy and services.

Libya a strategic partner for France
Speaking exclusively to Libya Herald, the President of the Libyan General Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, Mohamed Raied, stressed the importance of the Libyan French partnership in the field of oil, gas and alternative energies, and in all economic fields. This, he explained, is especially since Libya has sustainable economic resources and capabilities that make it a strategic partner for France, pointing to the importance of Libya in the global energy field, with its largely unexplored potential that needs huge investments.

Learn about French experience and opportunities in Libya
On France’s experiences in the field of energy, Al-Raied said that the French-Libyan Energy Forum brings together representatives of the main Libyan energy companies, including companies affiliated with the National Oil Corporation. The meeting shed light on the political, economic and financial situation in Libya, and gathered the experiences of French companies in Libya within the energy sector. It also helped participants learn about the main opportunities in the Libyan market and take advantage of the great technical capabilities that characterize French companies and digital transformation, as well as the expertise and human cadres that made France a pioneer in the field of energy.

The Franco-Libyan Oil, Gas and Energy Forum was held from 20 to 22 June in Paris under the sponsorship of the National Oil Corporation (NOC), the Movement of French Companies (MEDEF) and the French Association of Companies and Professionals in the Service of Energy (EVOLEN), The forum is organized by the Franco-Libyan Chamber of Commerce (CCFL).
