UNICEF announced yesterday that it has supported the installation of Tahseen (immunisation), Libya’s first electronic vaccination administration system. The system has been installed in 700 locations across Libya.

Tahseen, UNICEF explained, is designed to enhance the performance of the Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) by improving both coverage and efficiency.

With Tahseen, UNICEF continued, individuals’ immunization schedules will be monitored electronically, and their immunization histories will be stored in the system. This will ensure accurate tracking and provide a convenient way for people to keep track of their immunization status. Additionally, Tahseen will provide day-to-day stock-related operations and aggregated visuals at the store and national levels for improved management.

UNICEF said, thanks to the partnership with Libya’s National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), all children in Libya will benefit from this system that has been now installed at 100 sites out of the 700 targeted vaccination sites across Libya.

The immunization revolution with the Tahseen Platform will help create a safer, healthier Libya, UNICEF said.
