The World Bank is to participate in the 4th Annual Libya Banking Development Forum, organisers Sectors Development Forums (SDF) informed Libya Herald. The forum will be held at the Laico hotel, Tunis, from 8 to 9 November.

SDF report that the World Bank will discuss recent economic developments and economic outlook globally, in the MENA region and Libya, including as reported in its annual Libya Economic Monitor 2022 report. It will also discuss the policy implications in view of Libya’s and the region’s circumstances.

The Libya Economic Monitor 2022 report discusses, amongst other topics, Libya’s volatile oil production and its resultant volatile economic activity, the country’s escalating inflation and its persistent of liquidity crisis.

The forum is an independent-from-government forum consisting of open dialogues on all related issues. It is held annually in partnership and sponsorship of a group of Libyan banks, as well as regional and international financial institutions. Each edition of the forum aims to follow-up on the recommendations of previous editions and build on it to formulate the general programme and objectives.

The forum’s panellists and guests meet in in-depth discussion sessions, led by a number of well-known local and Arab bankers, as well as experts, businessmen and specialists from regional and international bodies.
