Former U.S. Congressman part of U.S. delegation visit to Misrata Free Zone to discuss investment opportunities

London, 17 June 2021:

An American delegation that included former U.S. Congressman from Florida, Joe Garcia, visited Misrata Free Zone (MFZ) on Tuesday.

The U.S. delegation included the director and officials of the U.S. Mercury Group, a public relations company working for the Libyan government. Mohamed Ali Abdalla, Special Envoy of the Government of National Unity to the United States was also present.

MFZ reported that the delegation wanted to learn about the activity of the Free Zone and its plan to develop the commercial port and open up investment horizons.

After the meeting, the delegation visited the port, specifically the new berth, in addition to a tour of the infrastructure implementation project which it reported is expected to be completed soon.
