Italian oil and gas company Eni has started drilling a new offshore exploratory gas well some 80 kilometres north of Zawia, west of Tripoli.
The new well, in 156 meters of sea, is in a known gaseous zone and adjacent to an existing gas well.
According to the NOC, expration will last 64 days and the well will be drilled to 3,000 metres.
