An official meeting was held at the headquarters of the Tripoli International Fair between the Fair’s Director General, Shukri Al-Taif, and the Director of the Italian Trade Agency (ITA/ICE) office, Libero Tessitore, to discuss mechanisms for enhancing Italian participation in upcoming economic events.
The meeting addressed logistical arrangements to expand the presence of Italian companies, whether through official pavilions at the 53rd edition of the Tripoli International Fair or via specialized exhibitions hosted in the capital.
In this context, Al-Taif affirmed the Fair administration's readiness to provide the necessary facilities and exhibition space to ensure the success of Italian participation, highlighting the importance of specialized exhibitions in opening new avenues for partnership between the Libyan and Italian business sectors.
The meeting took place during the current edition of Sportex (28 September to 2 October), an event dedicated to sports equipment.
In this sector as well, there is significant potential for synergy with Italy, as fitness and healthy nutrition are particularly dynamic sectors, ITA Director, Libero Tessitore, explained to Libya Herald.
Future synergies and upcoming events, he confirmed, were discussed to plan new Italian national pavilions, aiming to attract a growing number of companies and involve new sectors—alongside established ones (energy, agribusiness, and construction)—considering the widespread demand for "Made in Italy" products across various supply chains.
The next Italian Pavilion will be at the Libya Construction Expo in November. The Embassy of Italy and ITA (Italian Trade Agency) continue to work on strengthening commercial relations between the two countries by organizing promotional events and initiatives aimed at involving a broader range of sectors. Further activities are scheduled for 2027, Tessitore confirmed.
