China’s Ambassador to Libya, Ma Xuliang, posted on his personal social media account today that ‘‘The Embassy of China in Libya is monitoring reports circulating on some social media pages regarding the imminent opening of the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Benghazi and confirms that these reports are inaccurate.

The Embassy urges the public to verify information before sharing it and to rely on official and credible sources.

The Embassy emphasizes that China is committed to strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries for the benefit of both peoples’’.
