Mahmoud Al-Furjani, Chairman and General Manager of the Sirte Free Zone, confirmed yesterday that the completion rate for the port quay construction works has reached 90%.

He said the project has entered its final stages in preparation for actual operations.

This, he added, will boost trade and investment and support the national economy by activating the strategic role of the free zone and its seaport.

Meanwhile, Sirte Free Zone said construction is continuing on the dry bulk (grain) quay and the oil and gas quay -spanning 360 meters - with completion reaching 90% following the finalization of most major works.

The Free Zone said this progress signals the project's imminent entry into service and will bolster its handling and logistics capabilities.
