Multi-sector French trade delegation visits Greater Tripoli to enhance economic cooperation – holds several meetings with various entities

A multi-sector French trade delegation conducted a working visit to Greater Tripoli 18 to 20 January, the Libyan Embassy in Paris reported last week. The delegation included representatives from various economic, service, and technological sectors, reflecting the wide range of interests and opportunities for cooperation between the two countries.

The Embassy said the visit comes within the framework of supporting and strengthening economic relations between Libya and France, and in line with the Tripoli government’s policy of economic openness, diversification of international partnerships, and the promotion of investment and knowledge transfer.

The visit programme included a series of official meetings and specialized discussions with several Libyan entities, including the General Union of Chambers of Commerce; the Privatisation and Investment Board (PIB); the Libyan Company for Public-Private Partnership Projects (PPP); the Organisation for the Development of Administrative Centers (ODAC); the Emergency Medicine Centre; the Ministry of Industry; and the Industrial Research Centre. The delegation also visited the Al-Naseem Factory and the Misrata Free Zone to explore available resources and future partnership opportunities.

The programme also included a cultural component reflecting Libya’s rich heritage. The delegation visited the ancient city of Leptis Magna and toured its old city, as well as the National Museum in Tripoli, underscoring the depth and importance of Libya’s cultural heritage as a foundation for cooperation and openness.

The Embassy said the Chargé d’affaires organized the visit and selected the delegation in coordination with Business France, as well as preparing the visit programme and organizing meetings with the Libyan side, in order to enhance institutional communication channels and create a practical basis for sustainable economic partnerships based on common interests and a future vision.
