The Libyan Egyptian Joint Economic Chamber reported that its Chairman, Ibrahim Al-Jarari, participated in the three-day Free Zones and Transit Trade Conference (24-26 January) organised by Tobruk Free Zone and held in Tobruk.
Al-Jarari indicated that this conference is the first of its kind in Libya that deals directly with free zones. He stressed that the Libyan Egyptian Joint Economic Chamber will never hesitate to contribute to the work of the Tobruk Free Zone, considering it an important economic geography for the Libyan Egyptian economic partnership. He said the Joint Chamber will be a link between the Egyptian investor in this region to contribute to activating the national economy.
The conference was attended by other free zones in Libya as well as many experts and businesspeople interested in free zones and transit trade. Several experts were forced to participate online due to the bad weather that hit the area.
Several papers were presented at the conference by participants on the topic matter covering several areas, including:
– The importance of free zones
– Supporting the Libyan economy through diversification
– Supporting trade through land, sea and air borders
– Taking advantage of Tobruk port’s natural and strategic geographic position and location
– The role of bank finance in investment and trade
