Sirte and BACB to improve cooperation

Sirte Oil and Gas Company announced yesterday the successful drilling of a directional well in the Zilten field (C343H-6). The well flowed at a rate exceeding 1,400 barrels per day, with a natural flow with associated gas exceeding 2.3 million cubic feet per day.

The drilling was of a horizontal section exceeding 2,300 feet, within the Harash reservoir, targeting section C, with a thickness not exceeding 5 feet, and with high porosity and permeability.

The company explained that the encouraging results obtained after examining this thin layer for the first time, made it a promising reservoir with extensive extensions.

Periscope directional drilling technology
Waha said this was implemented using the latest “Periscope” directional drilling technology, which was able to maintain a horizontal path within the targeted thin layer.

Achieved using solely Libyan cadres
It also pointed out that the company has achieved this accomplishment with its national technical and engineering staff, which it said is a testament to the competence of Libyan workers and their ability to consistently achieve the best.

Support by Waha and NOC for Libyan cadres
Waha said this is underscored by the support and encouragement of the Chairman and members of the National Oil Corporation’s Board of Directors for Libyan personnel, who are working to enhance their efficiency to reach levels competitive with their global counterparts.
