The Attorney General’s Office announced today that the Attorney General discussed fuel distribution excesses and the fuel smuggling file, during a broad meeting last Tuesday (5 July) that included the head of the Brega Company, officials from the National Oil Corporation and the Director of the Tripoli Security Directorate.
The meeting dealt with the inadequacy of distribution tools and the reasons for the lack of access to fuel to citizens.
The Attorney General stressed the need to adhere to the public interest, implement contracts and provide fuel without manipulation.
He confirmed that the prosecution of those involved in the smuggling of fuel will continue.
The Attorney General also confirmed an investigation has been opened into the allocation of millions of litres of fuel to people and private entities without legal justifications.
