Libya and Shell discuss several areas of cooperation

‎The Tripoli based Acting Minister of Oil and Gas, Khalifa Abdel Sadig, met yesterday with the British Ambassador to Libya, in a meeting dedicated to discussing strengthening bilateral cooperation and developing the energy sector.‎

‎The efforts of the Ministry of Oil and Gas to increase the high rates of oil production and achieve unprecedented production numbers in years were reviewed. The two sides praised the round of public tender for exploration and development, and the accompanying increasing international interest in the opportunities available in Libya.‎

‎The minister reviewed the ministry’s plan to reform the financial structure of the sector, enhance the efficiency of commercial performance, and develop the petrochemical sector.‎

‎The minister stressed that Libya is ready to play a pivotal role in supporting energy security at the regional and international levels, in light of the preparation of new memorandums of understanding with a number of international partners.‎
