The Libyan Ministry of Oil and Gas received a high-level delegation from the Algerian company Sonatrach at the Ministry’s Tripoli headquarters yesterday to discuss enhancing cooperation in the oil and gas sector.
The delegation included the Reservoir Manager, the Logistics Manager, the Geology Manager, the Laboratories Manager, along with a representative from the Algerian Embassy in Libya.
From the Ministry of Oil and Gas, the meeting was attended by the Director General of the General Planning Department, the Director of the Economic Research and Studies Department, the Technical Advisor, and a member from the Planning Department.
The meeting addressed strengthening cooperation between Libya and Algeria in the areas of oil laboratories, conducting joint technical studies, and following up on the recently signed agreement between the Libyan Petroleum Research Centre and specialized laboratories in Algeria.
Discussions also covered partnership opportunities in refinery maintenance, pipeline projects, solar energy, and developing national expertise for work in international organizations. Additionally, Sonatrach’s latest projects in the Ghadames Basin were reviewed. Both sides emphasized the importance of exchanging experiences and technical visits to enhance integration between the two countries and propel the energy sector towards broader horizons.
