CBL meets JP Morgan Chase in DC – discussions include diversifying investment instruments to maintain and develop foreign exchange reserves

CBL receives results from meetings with international banks

The Governor of the Central Bank of Libya (CBL), Naji Issa, and his accompanying delegation, met at J.P.M. Morgan’s Washington, DC headquarters last Tuesday (22 April), with Daniel M. Zelikow, Vice President of the Bank, Georges Al Achkar, Executive Director and Head of Public Sector in the Middle East and North Africa, along with Rahul Shah, General Manager of Global Finance Solutions.

The meeting was held on the sidelines of Governor Issa’s attendance of the 2025 Spring Annual Meetings of the IMF and the World Bank held this week in Washington, D.C.

During the meeting, the CBL reports, the two sides discussed international economic developments, the prospects ‎‎of global markets, and the CBL’s policy in diversifying investment instruments to maintain and develop foreign exchange reserves. In addition, the CBL’s efforts to strengthen bilateral relations with correspondents abroad was also discussed.‎
