Libya’s state National Oil Corporation (NOC) reported last Sunday (30 March) that the technical teams of Sirte Oil and Gas Production and Processing Company succeeded in restarting its second methanol plant – after a stoppage for more than seven years.
The NOC reported that production at the plant began after the completion of the installation and testing of the natural gas heater.
The NOC also reported that Sirte Oil’s technical teams are working around the clock to restart the first methanol plant also for production through overhaul works, installation of thermal trimmer pipes, and updating the control system in record implementation times.
The NOC highlighted the fact that the production capacity of the two methanol plants is 2,000 metric tons/day, which it said is an important tributary to the national economy.
