The General Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture revealed yesterday that the Libyan European Energy Forum will be held in Malta from 15-16 May.
The revelation came on the back of a meeting held on the same day between the head of the General Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, Mohamed Al-Raied, and the Maltese Ambassador Charles Saliba, and his deputy.
The meeting, held at the Chamber’s Tripoli headquarters and at the invitation of the Chamber’s head, discussed preparations for the energy forum and possible ways of cooperation with the Maltese authorities concerned with the forum.
The Chamber said the Ambassador welcomed the idea of holding the forum in his country. He considered it a valuable opportunity to consolidate economic relations between the two neighbours, Libya and Malta, and expressed his readiness to urge the relevant Maltese institutions to contribute to the success of the forum.
Several economic matters and the possibility of developing and expanding economic activities between the two countries, were also discussed. The two sides also expressed their desire to build bridges of economic cooperation in the interest of both countries.
