The Attorney General’s Office reported yesterday that the Public Prosecutor has initiated a public lawsuit against officials of the Committee for the Care of the Wounded in Jordan during the period 2011 to 2017. The officials were detained in pretrial detention pending investigation.
The investigation procedures revealed that it was proven that the officials of the Committee deliberately disposed of US$ 250 million without corresponding documents and hospital invoices proving receipt of the treatment services.
The investigator also inferred that the official of the Committee disposed of US$ 30 million in 2012 without indicating the aspects of the disposal, and determining the destination of the amount disposed.
When the investigator completed the interrogation of the Committee official from 2011 to 2012, and his successor until 2017, and the Financial Affairs Controller in the Committee, the investigator decided to detain them in pretrial detention pending investigation, and then proceeded to request the necessary investigation against the rest of the Committee’s employees and others related to the financial imbalance.
