The Emergency Medicine and Support Centre (EMSC) announced Friday that a Spanish medical team in several specialties is returning to Tripoli this week.

The Spanish specialists will conduct examinations and operations at the Zanata Specialised Clinic and at the Al-Fouad Clinic according to the following distribution:

Zanata Specialised Clinic will receive consultants in general surgery, orthopaedic surgery, and spine surgery. The consultants are:

Dr Alberto Gomez, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon

Dr Lorenzo Zuniga, Consultant Spine Surgeon

Dr Miguel Verdejo, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon

Dr Miguel Angel, Consultant General Surgeon

 

Al-Fouad Clinic will receive open-heart surgery consultants for adults, including:

Dr Rafael Garcia de la Burbola, Consultant Cardiac Surgeon

Dr Fernandez Garcia de la Burbola, Mariano Consultant, Cardiac Surgeon

Pasqua Pena Patrica, cardiac surgery nurse

Examinations will open for cases from Saturday 11 November

 

The EMSC says the Spanish medical visit comes as part of its and the Tripoli government’s ongoing efforts to localise medical treatment inside Libya.
