The head of the Libyan Export Promotion Centre (LEPC), Mohamed Al-Deeb, held a meeting yesterday with the relevant sectors concerned with the fisheries industry. The meeting aimed at unifying efforts to advance the Libyan fishing sector.

The attendees included Major General Rajab Gatusa, the head of the Municipal Guard, Ajili Jumaa Al Mansouri, the chairman of the General Fishing Authority, Ibrahim bin Dakhil, the head of the General Department of Environmental Sanitation at the Ministry of Local Government, and the chairman of the Standing Committee to Adopt Institutions of Libyan Fishing Products.

During the meeting, a set of measures were agreed to address the weaknesses that prevent Libyan fish products from accessing global markets, especially the markets of European Union countries.
