The Misrata Chamber of Commerce and Industry announced it will be participating in the African international exhibition for technology and plastics, rubber and non-woven industries – AfroPlast 2023.

The event will be held from 18 to 21 May in Cairo and is organized by the Export Council for Chemical Industries and Fertilizers, with more than 180 companies participating.

The Director General of the Misrata Chamber of Commerce, Abubaker Shanab, confirmed that the AfroPlast exhibition presents the latest technologies, applications and industrial solutions that serve the business sectors in the field of plastic, rubber and non-woven industries. The exhibition represents the most effective platform for international brands and major innovators to expand their business to include the Middle East markets, North Africa and Africa. Libyan companies and businessmen from the city of Misrata will have an active participation by attending the exhibition activities, he added.

Significant growth in market
Shanab said AfropPast aims to benefit from the steady growth of the non-woven industries sector, as it is expected that the size of the global non-woven industries market will grow. Therefore, he continued, there will be a significant growth for this field in North African countries in general and Libya in particular, where the non-woven fabrics market is witnessing great growth. This, he explained, is due to the high health requirements in developing markets and the increasing awareness of environmentally friendly products used in medical activities and personal and home use.

B2B meetings
He added that Libyan businessmen are interested in this important aspect of economic activities, which are witnessing a remarkable development in terms of various products, machinery and equipment used in their manufacture, and this exhibition will be an opportunity to meet factory owners from Kenya, South Africa, Morocco and Nigeria to hold bilateral business meetings with the exhibiting companies in the exhibition through a predetermined programme as announced by the organizer.
