Updated: Misrata Chamber to lead delegation to Sarajevo Business Forum, Halal Fair 17 to 19 May

Misrata Chamber opens registration of contracting companies to implement its projects – including foreign and JV companies

The Misrata Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture intends to organize a delegation of its members to participate in the Sarajevo Business Forum 2023 (17 to 18 May) and the Sarajevo Halal Fair 2023 (17 to 19), which will be held in the Bosnian capital, Sarajevo.

Commenting exclusively to Libya Herald on the participation of the Misrata Chamber of Commerce delegation of business leaders at the events, General manager Abubaker Shanab said that their participation comes within the general economic activities that the Chamber’s management has planned to participate in outside events.

He said the Misrata delegation will consist of business leaders who own distinguished companies and factories operating in a number of specializations in Misrata.

100 companies from 36 countries
With regards to the Sarajevo Halal Fair specifically, he said this exhibition will be attended by more than 100 Halal products manufacturing companies from 36 countries, with a wide presence of businessmen looking for investment opportunities in this field and seeking information about the Halal products sector.

Exposure to wide range of Halal producers
Bosnia and Herzegovina has great potential in the field of halal food processing, Shanab added, and this exhibition provides exposure to a wide range of companies producing halal products from all over the world, especially the participating Islamic countries.

Trade volume with Bosnia increasing
Without providing any statistics, he said the volume of trade between Libya and Bosnia in recent years has increased significantly in the field of importing some foodstuffs, expressing his wish to reach a volume of trade exchange befitting the smooth relationship between the two countries.

Companies from Turkey, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Malaysia and Bahrain, Indonesia, Serbia, Montenegro, Croatia, Slovenia, Macedonia, Albania, and countries from the European Union, are participating in the exhibition.

Sarajevo Business Forum
The Sarajevo Business Forum, the international business and investment conference, on the other hand, is being held in cooperation with the Islamic Development Bank, Dubai Islamic Bank, Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank and other international partners.
