Tripoli-based Libyan Prime Minister, Abd Alhamid Aldabaiba, inaugurated the 13th edition of Libya Build 2023 exhibition at the Tripoli Fairgrounds yesterday.

The exhibition, which runs from 22 to 25 May, is one of the largest building, design and construction exhibitions in North Africa. There was wide local, Arab and international participation at the event yesterday represented in 118 Libyan companies, 45 Turkish companies, 24 Egyptian companies, 18 Italian companies, 9 Tunisian, 9 Austrian and 6 from the Emirates, in addition to individual participation scattered from several other countries.

The opening was attended by the Minister of Economy and Trade, Mohamed Al-Hwej, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Industry, several foreign ambassadors, several directors of government executive bodies and agencies, and owners of participating local and foreign companies.

Largest event in 15 years
Speaking exclusively to Libya Herald yesterday, Firas Al-Murtada, General Manager of ATEX, the organizers of Libya Build, confirmed that the exhibition is the largest event in the field of building and construction inside Libya for more than 15 years. He said this edition comes in order to support the efforts to restore stability to the country in addition to the efforts made by the government within the framework of it ‘‘Restoring Life’’ policy to the various development projects that have been suspended in all of Libya for over a decade.

He added that ATEX was keen to continue organizing this local event, which will have great international repercussions during the coming years, until the goal of rebuilding Libya is achieved, replacing years of wars and conflicts with years of construction. He hopes this will achieve permanent stability and successive economic and social growth.
