The Alrafahiya International Services company, part of the Akida Holding Group, opened its first restaurant of the well-known Turkish Big Chefs restaurant chain last Tuesday.

The VIP opening ceremony, in the presence of the Chairman of Akida Holding Group, Nasser Okok and Chairman of the Libyan Industry Union, Rashid Swani, included UNSMIL head Abdoulaye Bathily and the ambassadors of Turkey, Italy, Spain, Germany and the Netherlands.

Akida expanding in the cafes and restaurants sector
Speaking exclusively to Libya Herald, Mahmoud Okok, one of the Directors of the group, said that the opening of the first restaurant in Libya of the Big Chefs chain of restaurants comes as part of the efforts of the Akida Holding Group to enter the cafes and restaurants sector.

This, he added, comes after Akida’s previous successful expansion in the areas of air conditioning, kitchen equipment, home furnishings, foodstuffs, and home accessories.

Libyan market ready for many leading brands
He said operations in the Libyan restaurants field will accommodate many foreign brands known for the quality of the food they provide, great professionalism in the methods of presentation, and a comprehensive expansion in ways of dealing with food in healthy ways that suit all tastes.

Other branches will be opened across Libya
Okok said the opening of their first Big Chefs branch in Libya will be followed by the opening of several branches in other cities, including Misrata and Benghazi.

Stability has encouraged investment in Libya
He said the new state of stability in Libya has encouraged investment in it, which has led to a reassessment by many businessmen in investing their money again here in new projects that have never been done before. These investments are with well-known foreign brands that make the Libyan consumer desire what they offer in terms of food, meals and services inside Libya.

Turkish high standards will be maintained
Okok said the quality of food and service at the Tripoli Big Chefs will be at the same level of services provided in Turkey, with the hands of international chefs from Turkey, with the help of chefs from Libya and several countries. He said the workers in Big Chefs Libya will be selected with very high standards and specifications commensurate with the terms and conditions set by the Turkish Big Chefs chains.

He added that the quality of food served in Big Chefs restaurants in Libya will have great interest from officials specialized in monitoring the quality of food before serving it to the customer at the table.

A varied menu
The menu will be varied, he explained, and contain items from all countries of the world in order to suit the tastes of all restaurant goers of different nationalities, so that it will attract workers in diplomatic missions and foreign employees working in Libya. The restaurant will also fulfil all the requests of the Libyan customer of foods that were known to be served in Big Chefs restaurant chain.

To expand to fruit and vegetable and meat retail market
Revealing some of his company’s expansion plans in the food sector, Okok disclosed that his company plans to open several markets selling fruit and vegetables and meat in a modern way on a par with what is offered in developed countries.

The is, he explained, so that the consumer can obtain clean vegetables packaged and preserved in a good manner, as well as offering clean fruits in contents appropriate to each type of fruit. As for meat, it will be allocated with great care, cut, packaged and prepared in healthy ways, with high quality and reasonable prices. These markets will be unique in all of Libya, he stressed.
