NOC and Total discuss increased production, reduced emissions, renewables and capacity-building

Libya’s state National Oil Corporation (NOC) discussed with Total Energies yesterday ways to develop cooperation and to implement a package of important topics.

During the meeting with the Total delegation headed on the Libyan side by NOC chairman Mustafa Sanalla held at the NOC’s Tripoli headquarters, Total’s resumption of exploration operations at some locations, raising production rates, and the operations activity of the offshore Al-Jurf field, were discussed.

The NOC also discussed its active efforts and plans to reduce carbon emissions and benefit from Total’s experience in this field, in addition to Total’s contribution to bring renewable energies technologies and apply them in various operations in the Libyan oil sector.

The meeting also discussed the latest developments in capacity-building programmes to train national students at Libyan universities in the field of oil by Total Summer University and a range of other training programmes in oil disciplines.
