London, 8 March 2021:

The new designate Presidency Council held a meeting yesterday in Tripoli with Mr. Risadon Zinenga, Deputy Political Affairs of the United Nations Special Envoy in Libya, and his accompanying delegation, accompanied by the international observers’ team to monitor Libya’s ceasefire.

During the meeting, they discussed the mechanisms of implementing the ceasefire mission, opening the coastal road (Abu Grain – Sirte) to reduce the suffering of citizens using the road, and supporting the path of the 5 + 5 Joint Military Commission and the Political Track, until reaching the 24 December elections.

For its part, the Presidential Council reaffirmed the continuation of its efforts to achieve security and stability, and prevent the resurgence of violence in all regions of the country.
