Turkish company, Karanfil Group, said yesterday that it has inaugurated the largest concrete production plant in Libya.
[restrict paid=”true”] .. Its CEO, Fatih Sarı, said his company has spent US$ 10 million on the plant and plans to spend up to US$ 50 million. The plant will be able to produce up to 90 cubic meters of concrete per hour and aims to employ a thousand people. Initially it will employ 250 people.
Sari said current supply in Libya is not meeting demand and his plant will also be able to supply the future demand of Turkish construction companies once they resume their stalled projects as well as demand from Libya’s neighbouring countries.
The company reported that it has been operating in Libya for 34 years in several fields, including logistics and supply and production. It plans future investments in petrochemical and energy.
It reported it already has branches in Tripoli, Misrata, Beida, Zliten, Tobruk, Zultun, Khoms and Zawia.
Sarı said Libya is the key to the African continent, which has 53 countries with an approximate population of 1 billion. He said it is possible to reach those countries in a shorter time via Libya and that his company can use Libya to expand their products and services exports. [/restrict]
