London, 28 February 2021:
The General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) announced the arrival at Tripoli port on Friday of spare parts for its Ruwais power station. The spare parts, it explained, are needed to carry out a massive overhaul for the first unit of the station.
The spare parts consist of a turbine shaft.
The company said this comes within the framework of the its continuous and strenuous efforts to support the electrical network and cope with the upcoming summer peak loads.
GECOL said this comes after the activation of the agreement contract and the opening of documentary credits with the German company for long-term maintenance of the generating units of the Ruwais station located in the Nefusa Western Mountains.
