London, 6 October 2020:

Aljaied expands its portfolio with SIG’s filling and packaging solutions: evaporated milk in re-closeable carton packs

Aljaied for Food Industries, a wholly owned Libyan national company and a joint-venture with CO-RO, a leading provider of fruit-based soft drinks and more, has expanded its product portfolio with the addition of evaporated milk.

The company is using SIG’s filling technology and recloseable combifitSmall carton packs – which it says is a market innovation in the Libyan market.

It says the carton packs will be offered in three different volumes: 180ml, 200ml and 330ml and will be fitted with SIG’s recloseable combiSmart closure.

Hussein Issa, CEO at Aljaied for Food Industries, said: “In order to achieve the highest standards of excellence and to meet consumers’ needs for daily food commodities, our aim is to establish local factories to supply the Libyan market with international competitive products.

This launch is the first to come from our partnership with SIG Combibloc Obeikan and we will add additional products to our portfolio as this collaboration expands.

We are confident that evaporated milk in recloseable carton packs will offer our consumers a recognized added value. The carton pack is very easy to open and conveniently recloseable, differentiating it from the current products on the shelves.”

Aljaied food Industries says it is a ‘‘100 percent Libyan national company’’, established in 2017 and headquartered in Misrata. It says it is the exclusive agent for many of the world’s leading brands. It imports various foodstuffs which are distributed across Libya, including juices, condensed milk powder, sterilized milk, cheeses of various sizes and weights, corn oil, sunflower oil, canned tuna of all sizes and weights, vegetables, paste, canned tomatoes, bread flour, sugar, poultry eggs, poultry meat etc.
