Aref Nayed, who resigned three weeks ago as Libya’s ambassador to the UAE, has been awarded one of the UAE’s highest honours, the Order of Independence.
The award, in its first class, was in recognition of Nayed’s work promoting relations between the UAE and Libya in all fields, according to the Emiratis. It was bestowed on Nayed today by Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE foreign affairs minister, who wished the former ambassador success in his future endeavours.
Sheikh Abdullah lauded the ambassador s role in enhancing the ties between the UAE and Libya, and wished him success in all his future assignments.
