Tripoli, 15 May 2016:
Despite the political paralysis, the power cuts, inflation and the shortage of cash, life in Tripoli . . .[restrict]continues in other ways. A new Arts and Culture Centre has just been opened in the downtown area by the mayor of central Tripoli, Abdulrauf Beitelmal.
The historic building in Shara Mizran, formerly the Ali Haider Shaati School, became offices for the Ministry of Education but was then seized by a militia in 2014 which used it as its headquarters.
Yesterday’s opening was attended by numerous local artists and writers. [/restrict]
